Choosing the right wood for cabinets

I’m currently designing a kitchen cabinet and weighing the benefits of using maple vs… oak. I love the durability of oak, but maple has such a clean, modern look. What do you all prefer for cabinetry in terms of aesthetics and practicality?

When it comes to cabinetry, I’d lean toward maple for that sleek aesthetic, but keep in mind it can dent more easily. Oak’s a tough cookie, so if durability’s a priority, it might just be the way to go. Have you thought about mixing both for a unique look?
